Noni Thomas is a musician and music educator who has encouraged and inspired students to find their "voice" for the last 8 years. Her experience in music education is not limited to the role of teacher but extends to her own experience as well. Noni is a graduate of the Humber College Jazz Performance program and alumna of Etobicoke School of the Arts.
An active supporter of community music, Noni has facilitated various music summer camps and workshops over the past few years in and throughout the GTA. Since moving to Shelburne in 2015, Noni has had the opportunity to collaborate with artists and groups that focus on highlighting arts in the community and youth engagement in the arts.
More than just a hobby, Community theatre productions have become a steady gig and love for Noni. She has been the Musical Director for LP Stage Productions shows: The Lion King Jr, That's Entertainment Jr, A Christmas Story, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Singin' In The Rain Jr and Forever Plaid.
Noni has also been fortunate to partner with Streams Community Hub (an organization passionate about youth, arts and the community) as a facilitator for their Summer Arts Camp. This camp makes art accessible to youth by offering various "streams" of arts disciplines ranging from Visual Arts, Drama, Photography, Coding & Kindergarten Prep.
She independently released "Light", an award-nominated EP of original gospel soul tunes under her maiden name "Noni Lindsay" in 2011. Performing live whenever she has the opportunity, Noni is working on a follow-up album.
Currently, Noni is a private music teacher at her own studio, Noni Thomas Music in Shelburne.
